About the Author

Georgia Ann Moss is called in her teaching gift to empower the lives of children and adults to read. Ms. Moss believes the ability to read and study is the greatest gift to humankind. 


Throughout the community, Ms. Moss has conducted Summer Reading Programs for the past seventeen years, targeting areas and locations of children in need. She conducted the Voluntary Reading Program, teaching reading strategies to mothers/infants from birth to preschool from 2005-2009 at the Muskegon Heights Housing Commission. Ms. Moss has conducted Summer Reading Labs from 2011-2021 at the Phillip Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, for children Grades 1 through 4. She believes the research which has proven that reading programs, especially during the summer, are critical for students to retain knowledge and skills learned in the previous school year.

Ms. Moss loves teaching! The strategies of listening, engaging, awareness of print, making connections, letter sounds and a lot of healthy conversation when reading books to children are rewarding and exciting. She loves seeing the children’s faces come to life when books are read to them.

Messages of Spiritual Sustenance, Ms. Moss’s first book, is a devotional journal of biblical lessons.  Her journal encourages readers to read, write and pray and is geared for adults and women’s study groups.

Georgia Ann Moss is the author of Uncle Buddy, a book for Pre-Primer to third grade. Uncle Buddy is a delightful story about family and contains twenty-nine high frequency words and think-and-respond questions for comprehension.

Georgia Ann Moss has the desire to have everyone reading.

Ms. Moss holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Secondary Education, a master’s degree in Counseling and Personnel and a master’s degree in Reading all from Western Michigan University. Ms. Moss provides educational services and is skilled in the areas of: M-Step (paper and pencil) test proctor – Michigan Connection Online Academy; Level Literacy Intervention; Fountas and Pinnell and Nelson Denny Reading Test Administrator and Differentiated Reading Instruction. Ms. Moss has worked as a Reading Interventionist, adult Reading Tutor for Read Muskegon and an Adjunct Instructor in Reading for the local community college.

Georgia Ann Moss is a Member of Michigan Reading Association.  


Ms. Moss is committed to providing children with a lot of exposure to books, because books can take us to our favorite places.


Additionally, in her spare time, Ms. Moss loves to sew! She is an excellent seamstress.
